How it works


Round by round

Round by round, rival mobs clash beneath the Gloom through 3 phases: Draw, Set, and Clash.


How to win survive

Break your Gloom’s Hexes first, or stand alone when the Dark Deck runs dry.


Protect your Mob

Monsters are your survival. Choose a Mob Boss to lead each round and outwit rivals with savage abilities. But guard them well; if you run out of monsters, you’re out of the game.


Twist the odds

Tomes change everything. Cast wicked magic to fortify your mob, weaken rivals, and punish plays, twisting the tide of each round until you break your hex.


Enter Melee

Melee is where mobs collide. Stack power through tomes and summons, tempt the odds with a roll of the dice and fell your rivals, melee after melee.

The play area


The table is divided into several game zones.

Diagram X shows a 2-player round, with each rival mob facing the Gloom. For games with more than 2 players, place each Mob Zone around the centre, all eyes turned inward.
